Built in the 18th Century and ideally located between Bayeux (historic town of 15000 inhabitants) and the Landing Beaches, 2 km away from Bayeux, 21 km away from Caen and it memorial, 15 km away from Omaha Beach cemetery. The Chateau de la Ferriere opens its 5 bedrooms to national and international travelers.
The owners Pietro Chiapponi and Geoffroy de Ville d’Avray welcome you in their home, with unconventional chic.
The vast bedrooms and the drawing rooms, filled with family inherited furniture as well as “coups de cœur” found in Italian or French flea markets by owners,
open to magnificent views over the unspoiled nature around.

With its five bedrooms, its private lounge and its large park, Chateau de la Ferrière can be your “family House” for a few days.
Feel at home, between a walk on the beach and a visit to a museum.
After running in the park, or playing golf at Port-en-Bessin, come back on the terrace for a drink.
Pietro and Geoffroy won’t cook for you… But they will book a table for you in one of the delicious restaurants around if you wish.

Chambre Bleue Chateau de la Ferrière

Built in 1735 for a Squire of king Louis XV, it became – from 1760 to 1789 – a meeting point for Nature lovers thanks to the famous botanist Moisson de Vaux, who created here an exotic garden with rare plants he had gathered all over the world. He introduced Magnolia in France, and Plantanus […]

Le parc du Château de la Ferrière

Follow the narrow paths under many Platanus planted in the 18th century, beeches, chestnut trees, sequoias, yews, ash trees, oaks and Lambert’s cypress.

“A unique holiday venue.”
We felt like aristocrats living in our own chateau. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and an interesting person. We felt like personal guests in a home, rather than B and B customers.

“Friendly Stay in Beautiful Chateau!”
Grounds and rooms are beautiful. We loved meeting Jeffrey, the owner, the first night of our stay and sharing a glass of wine with him. We also loved Ipa, Julia and Lala – their dogs. Breakfast was beautiful and tasted great! Service was fantastic!

“Beautiful Chateau on the outskirts of Bayeux”
This is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Bayeux and the D-Day beaches. We decided to stay near Bayeux because many of the organized tours of D-Day sites leave from the center of town, a mere 10 minutes from the chateau. We felt welcomed at the chateau. Our hosts, Geoffroy and Pietro, were attentive and helpful, providing excellent suggestions for local restaurants and activities. The room and amenities were lovely, and the grounds were restful after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfasts were generous, with freshly made eggs, croissants, and anything else you might want. The three resident dogs were friendly, well-behaved and fun to watch.

+ (…) Great fun. From the first greeting to sitting with us to share a glass of wine & nibbles (complementary on arrival) to arranging meals/ taxis nothing was to much trouble. The Chateau setting is fabulous. We will return.
–  Nothing. Everyone & everything just fitted the setting perfectly.
